“Green and the Blues” is a small jazz band formed in 2006, initially existing as a piano/drums/trumpet trio, but soon adding tenor sax and recently double bass to the line-up. The group regularly plays for parties and functions in the Cambridge area, including performances at college dinners. The members of the band are either finishing school, taking gap years or are about to start their first year of university.
The band is currently producing its second CD, and hopes to put on a full concert in the near future. Our repertoire covers a variety of jazz standards in a range of styles, from classic numbers such as “Blue Bossa” to lesser-known tunes such as Oscar Peterson’s “Nigerian Marketplace” or Horace Silver’s “Nica’s Dream”. Current gigs include Trinity May Ball and the British Academy.
